Weekly Blog Round: Vacation Edition

Beach VacationStill not much going on with the markets. Same old same old … Some key points to highlight.

  • Coca-Cola (KO) just executed their announced split. It makes the stock more accessible to small investors. It also allows for an easier DRIP.
  • TMX purchase is now complete.
  • Bell Canada (BCE) increased dividends.
  • Anything else worthy to highlight?

A couple of weeks ago, I discussed how I want to bring lunch to the office. So far, I have not been at the office much to evaluate my progress. On vacation, we did pretty well though at cooking ourselves and not going to the resto. For the sake of holding myself accountable, I’ll just be highlighting how it went during my weekly.

  • Last week, I ate lunch twice at the office
  • This week, all cooked meals except for one family meal at the resto
On the vacation side, I spent a whopping $760 in gas this last month and that included filling up south of the border a number of times. Our usual gas spending is around $350 per month.

Worthy Readings

Some weekend reading to share … Also worth highlighting that I Love Dividends has an updated site: ‘I Love Dividends‘. The ex-dividend is a great tool for balancing your monthly income if that’s important.

Also featured in the following carnivals (2 weeks worth of link back!).

Have a nice weekend!
